WORK has begun on Bluff's new $750,000 town reservoir.

The tender for the 1,000,000 litre LITRE. A French measure of capacity. It is of the size of a decimetre, or one-tenth part of a cubic metre. It is equal to 61.028 cubic inches.       "Perth : 12:15pm Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (Fortescue, ASX:FMG) confirms that an accommodation camp for workers working on its Pilbara railway located around 100 kilometres south of Port Hedland was in the path of Cyclone George and was extensively damaged overnight. Fortescue also confirms that a number of people have been injured at the camp and that there has been one fatality.

Fortescue’s focus is on giving every possible assistance to the emergency services and safeguarding the welfare of its workers in the Pilbara region.

At this stage we cannot give an accurate assessment of damage and we will not be releasing any details to the media concerning the injured or the fatality until all affected families have been contacted directly."

The news of unnecessary death by a donga's collapse exposes the fragile housing supplied by the employer, a situation that is repeaded time after time in same situations. Would the same thing have happened if more care was taken by securing the dwelling, or providing a bunker for shelter from such ferocious winds.

Ok, they are now considering these forms now, but add a little more complacency they will soon forget when there is no repeat of savage tornado type storms lash the east and west coasts of Australia.

See my previous entry on toxin that can be deadly if found in your drinking water, and it cannot be tasted, smelt nor detected until  it is too late..

 Why the title, Well, he does allow these town graziers put up fences any which way, then not clear them up[roll up the barb wire and put int out of harm's way!]  when the animals have trampled them down in their effort to reach other greener pastures.

My last port of call, Good Friday, 6th April 2007.  No wonder we do

not rely on this dam for our drinking and bathing water, it is empty.

Worse, there has never been an attempt to deepen whilst it is dry ...

 Here I was setting out for my walk, only to meet up with disaster

before I got as far as the football field, which has to be watered

with our drinking water to make it fit to be played upon..

Suggestion re low shallow dams of Queensland, Australia. Why not bring in a few escavators and dig deep into the now empty areas of the Whyvanho & other dams. They are not deep compared to the natural lakes of North America If Man wants to make Lakes, why doesn't he get serious!

I often get a lift with a friend to Nearest Shopping Centre of a Tuesday, either weekly or fortnightly, this morning she left early as her son had 'cooking class,' and as sons often do,
left the buying of ingredents to the last minute.

Still I got to town, had a cuppa for morning tea at another friend's house, Don, short for Madonna before she went to an appointment  on other side of town.

I do get back to make another entry from time to time. Once 'Aussiepod," was my only blog, possible it was my first as I searched different news items I had come across a contribution or comment from a woman who had an eye catching nick name & web site.

There, that was not difficult. Now with the water situation, which takes me away from my attacks on the industries that bend the rules as well as having the government approval, as previous entry has two reference sites, and if you deduce the mine mentioned that I am claiming has broke the rule of messing up our river, is selling the coal for our electricity, DOES END JUSTIFY THE MEANS?  I would like your feed back on that one, dear reader, if you can.

Now I have my watering to do, hand held hose only, and be frugle with it, is instructions from "Duaringa Shire Council" of Qld Australia.  Yep, they have let it all run down, lost their best workers, now just employ young women in this area, [young men go for the big money, if they can get employment in the coal mines] who do not have the experience. It is not their fault, but they could end up being the scape goat, poor dears, when things go terribly wrong.

They do plan along with this dictorial premier of State of Qld Au. in joining as a grid many of our dams. Perhaps not our Bedford Weir, as there are water pipes going to the towns to the north as well as south to Blackwater, then on to Bluff.

Just two years back, a water tanker was constantly carting warter to the township to Dingo, another 26miles to the east makeing it 38miles from Blackwater, and another 40klm  to the Bedford Weir.

Must not have looked right us having an abundance of water when BRISBANE was feeling the pinch. But, in my position, I just have to live with it. One son told me to stop my 'Activism' in politics in our country, and comment on matters of big business here and abroad.

Well, does he do as I tell him, you guessed it...
