I first met Flor at a Church Social, possible it was a Spiritual Revival.. sometime in the 27 years she has lived here in Australia, mostly in Blackwater, Central Queensland..

I was not successful with the up load of news item.. so saving to drafts..

After 25 years Flor Weir Decided to return to her homeland Peru and take her children with her.. Hard to find any mention of Flor and this trip to Peru.. I guess quiet recent. Flor and two of her four children traveled to Lima where they spent most of their three months visit in the City.

CELEBRATE International Women's Day International Women's Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.  and Harmony Day Harmony Day is an event held across Australia on 21 March, coinciding with the United Nations International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Targeted mainly at primary-school aged children, Harmony Day is an effort to demonstrate the Australian Government's commitment  in style this month at the Women's Expo.

The successful event is in its third year and returning to the Blackwater Civic Centre  Doors open at 9.30am and close at 7pm with plenty to fill the hours. One of the attractions at the expo is a cooking demonstration, held in the morning and afternoon, and will be hosted by Flor Weir.  Mrs Weir will cook three traditional meals from Peru: two entrees and a main meal.[a quote from the then Duaringa Shire News]

Flor Weir "We visited two orphanages & saw how beautiful the children are. On the day we visited it was choir practice & they were singing. It was a heavenly tune. "We wanted them (her children) to see what it is to be under privileged in a third world country."  They also visited Macchu Piccu* while they were in Peru..

. Flor & her family also visited the Andies where the Incas lived. Flor said, " We are most humbled by the way the people live independently of the rest of Society."

This piece I owe to Journalist ' Krystal Hansen'  writer for "the Herald of Blackwater, Qld Australia"

I wished I could have posted the item news clipping or at least refer a news item & photograph of the young family..  May be more is to come to the herald & the Central Queensland News paper of Emerald, Qld..  http://www.cqnews.com.au/

PS.  Both Children are on facebook..  to keep my id. a secret I will not approach them..

Returning After some time Absence
Mood:  bright
Topic: blog or not to blog

Returning after a long stretch away because I did not remember my password, or was it the system was not accepting it..

Previous post mentions symptoms similar to Parkinson type complaint.  I am no worse in the walking, actually much better this year. No falls ... had eye trouble,  and the 'floatie' still remains, although my vision has improved.  Shrinking the picture leaves me more wrinkled,  or did I just notice... new camera picks it all up...

I will leave further gossip for another day. Take my time compiling...

He Curses Also
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Mad in Queensland

We had the American Television Crusader visiting Queensland last week, and he went away with $800,000.00 approxmately.

You could put him in the class of 'entertainer,' as he held this bang in show at the Entertainment Centre. Now I mentioned his visit to a friend in another Aus. State, and the following was her reply. I too have

"Ha yes Benny Hinn the so called evangelist. I used to watch him every day years ago. But I've sinced learned that him and also Joyce Meyer are very greedy and VERY wealthy people.  They have oodles of land, houses, cars, private jets etc.  I did see a picture of Meyer's house or one of them.. And her land was HEAPS large.  I don't even like her messages.  Hinn I sometimes watch as he performs 'healings' but most times he pushes them over. I went to a pentecostal church for years and often got pushed over but sometimes it was the spirit of God and no one had to touch me.  It wasn't for any reason that I could tell except one time a preacher called people to the front and I fell down and couldn't move as I felt a power go up and down my prone body.  I can't remember what it did but it was a definite touch.. Another time we all had a laughing fit as the Spirit touched one woman who'd always been quiet and depressed having a sense of worthlessness.. She burst out laughing and couldn't stop and we all started laughing.. The Bible says that "laughter is the best medicine" and it's so true.  Often I was totally healed of one thing or another.  Like at home one night I'd fallen over during the day and severely hurt my knee on the right leg.  That night I got up and sat in the kitchen chair and said "Lord please remove all this pain and every bruise!"  I sat and watched all the bruises just fade away within minutes.  All the pain had gone and as I got up and walked 'by faith' all the strength came back into my legs and I felt great.  Oh and you probably won't believe this but one night I was washing the dishes and decided to phone a friend from church to ask her to pray for me.  She answered and said "Oh it's just a spiritual problem" and just sort of hung up.  I was disappointed but went back to the sink and dishes.. I just said "Well Jesus I love you anyway."  with that I felt his awesome awesome presence and love was pouring out of him and filling me so much I had to back away.  It was So powerful.. the most powerful thing in this earth.  I got back to the cupboard against the far wall and then it faded slowly away but I felt SO loved like never before.  So many other miracles, more than I can remember, including provision of money put into my letter box, Box of groceries on my front doorstep and once even a saucepan of food.. tiny little bit of potato that was all that was left.. multiplied from a mere scraping around the edges of the bottom to be 1/4 full!!  I was so amazed.  All I'd done before I dished it up to my ex husband out in the caravan and taking it out to him was "Please Lord let this be enough."  I didn't expect to be able to have any myself but as it was I had way more than he did.
Well I've been up all night 'AusPod' so I'm off to bed now.. Oh I think I have one more email from you to read first.
Love,<....my friend>

I too have have had food left on the doorstep, or actually they came in human form, insisting I take the carton of food, Flour, Sugar, Breakfast Cereal, Canned Milk, Baked Beans, Peas & Beans as well as other vegetables and Apples and Oranges. There was meat, canned ham & fresh sausages.

I already had visitors earlier, appeared the same, on the doorstep, invited themselves in, said they did not need the usual cuppa & biscuit that one would give a real human neighbourly visitor.
They were identical to the couple that came with "Lucetta,"  all those  years ago, back in  1948  wanting to move me from  my happy home with  parents [they were absent in hospital for a short time} brother & sister who were 2 and 4 years older than myself.

This couple wandered about the small flat 'inspecting!' Looking in the fridge, or did they actually ask please will you open it, thinking we had no food, lol, I can now, at their funny ways. They really believed they were god's angels, doing what they thought was 'the right thing,' same as this crap pottering 'evangalist.'

What the Season Brings, Hope or Dispair

What the Season Brings.. Hope or Dispair
Current mood: awake
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

'What has happened here..
Mental health petition.. see google mail.. '
Reminder I made for myself as I signed a petition with Qld Government web site to improve the lot of the mentally ill who are being over medicated, i.e. drugged to the eye balls, so to speak. Unable to operate well enough to look after their selves, and definatly unable to work to the best of their ability. Most cannot hold down a job, and if they do it is a menial task with others doing the thinking, organizing and collecting a high wage/salary for his privilage.
The Health Department or Mental Health Department has increased with Spending at a all time high, thanks to the Beattie/Bligh Government putting more funding into the said department, but things for the patient remain much the same.
Recently a young man died, who had been treated at home with these 'brain disabling drugs.' By not changing his habits they were condoning his demise by drugging him for years & giving no home of improvement! His teeth went rotten, possibly a side effect of the medication, as well he smoked heavily, with not encouragement plan to quit. Hopeless, just darn hopeless. I cannot comment on the actual cause of death, but a poor diet and smoking and lazing about, a side effect of 'brain disabling drugs,' a sure way to cut short a young life..
The Federal Government in this country has also added to people dropping out, not working to their full potential. The young 20-30 year old can live in a small town with little work potential in the area and slip through the system & uses thier overweight, mental retardation as an excuse because the "Job Network," they are regestered with does not try hard enough to put them in gainful employment.
Sure they can be 'referred,' to interviews with potential employment, can go to 20 of these in one week, and still not find suitable, gainful employment.
At 50 years of age, I had spent 10 years in Merchandising products for Retail Grocery Stores and got efficent at it. I had been offered cleaning jobs, but the timing was wrong, as a single, widowed parent I was their only adult relative for 500 or 600 kilometers. Still, by the time my youngest was 15 I was offered to go to this City to do a course in Hospitality, with out my children as they were attending school near my home.
Federal Government said they were old enough to be in charge, i.e. over 16, and state law said they had to be over 18. Besides....
My fear, MY FEAR... I did not know what it was exactly, a fear of being away from family, a fear of them being taken from me and placed in care.. Who Cares? It is not Care, it is to see they get a wage/salary by being paid for telling you what to do, how to do it, simply because they have the POWER..

Looking at Water Use Qld Style & some Solution
Current mood: determined

The Queensland Government of the day that is 2007, Labour lead by Ms Bligh 400% increase in mental health problems due to Traveston Dam The Nationals? Member for Gympie, David Gibson said that the environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed dam at Traveston Crossing has confirmed the devastating impact the dam announcement has had on the health of the residents of the Mary Valley.

(Media-Newswire.com) - The Nationals? Member for Gympie, David Gibson said that the environmental impact statement ( EIS ) for the proposed dam at Traveston Crossing has confirmed the devastating impact the dam announcement has had on the health of the residents of the Mary Valley.

"The EIS has revealed that as a result of the announcement there was a 400% increase in people from the Mary Valley presenting to the Gympie Mental Health team," Mr Gibson said.

"What makes this even more disturbing is the over representation of children and young people in these numbers.

"This Labor Government should be ashamed of what they have done and the Premier should make an unreserved apology to the people of the Mary Valley over her Government?s botched handling of the dam announcement.

"Regardless of whether you are for or against the proposed dam, I believe all Queenslanders would be disturbed at the distress experienced by our youth as a result of the failure of this Labor Government to properly plan and consult with the people who are at most affected.

"Anna Bligh has an opportunity to show compassion for the suffering experienced by people in my electorate by apologising for the failure to properly manage this process.

"That simple gesture of saying sorry would go a long way to helping those who have suffered mental health problems as a result of the dam announcement."

The EIS also identified the "need for continued adequate resourcing for primary and mental health services" in the region. ( pg 2-40 of Executive Summary )

Bligh's husband to head new department

Did not take her long to re-invent a position for her spouse. Wow, he did not quit the public service, he just took leave of his role in the Department of Premier & Cabinet so they could not be accused Of  "conflict of interest!"

Now, she has created a new portfolio and made Geg Baby the Head of it, seeing he has been looking so hard for a new position.
.................................................

At waterright.com
harvesting smaller rains
You will find an explainmation on how better to use water that falls to the earth.

The writers are serious about preserving the environment & putting water use to a different level than relocating their neighbours by taking over their land, farms & homes and flooding the area.

We have the example of the Brisbane Valley
having been damned and still they are not satisfied.

I resent the fact that people are called mentally ill, just because someone who has gained power abuses that power.

The
community must take  action on water

There are countless web sites that can help you in understanding  the use of water does not have to be the
building of more mega dams. It is the changes of attitudes
and a good place to look is:-

Re-Planting Commences at 2PH Farms, Emerald Qld Au

Topic: the ole yellow cat

There is not much mentioned on the open search of web site of

this once thriving business which employed up to 300 pickers and

80 plus shed hands up until 2005, when Citrus Canker Overwhelmed

the  industry in the Emerald District.

Not to be beat, the Son of John Pressler, founder and owner of the

biggest private owned Citrus Cropping, Craig is in charge of

Replanting.

I had not heard anything of the family, in the Media, or my gossip

connections [networking] and precious little on the internet.

They had been fair to middling employers, but nothing to complain

about, now I am not aching all over and sure have put on the

weight these past seven years, but so has Craig, going by his

his photo in the Rural Weekly, part of a multi-million dollar worth of

newsprint....no picture added.

Previous entry, below has couple of buildings used as dwellings.

No mention of Duaringa Shire Council Approval of the Change in Use.

What happens when we become part of "Emerald Regionald Council"

or will it be called, "Central Hightlands of Qld Council"

that is it from Aussiepod or Elidaaussie as I am listed...

Same Thing Here in Australia with Illegal Workers
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Writing and Poetry

Yep, I could write a book on my work
Experiences and even be a jerk
Report them to the Persons in Charge
  Or just take the Barge

Er, I still won't make the Poet in the Literature Game.
News from New York Times so Similar to what happens Here in OZ

Experts said the new rules represented a major tightening of the immigration enforcement system, in which employers for decades have paid little attention to notices, known as no-match letters, from the Social Security Administration advising that workers' names and numbers did not match the agency's records.

Illegal workers often provide employers with false Social Security numbers to qualify for a job.

Employers, especially in agriculture and low-wage industries, said they were deeply worried about the new rules, which could force them to lay off thousands of immigrant workers. More than 70 percent of farmworkers in the fields of the United States are illegal immigrants, according to estimates by growers' associations."

+We had the same situation even up to 1998 when I was still working in the field

The Employer would not allow me to pick he Citrus, I had to go into the Shed & sort & pack the Fruit

Was the Owners Afraid I would ask too many questions and/or ask the other gun pickers for their

WORK VISA.
--
AussieIda

Then there is the alternative Small Holdings Use. They have the "backpacker,"
or visitor come as a "Relative" I use that for a better word to explain
They Supply the Worker with food & keep and a small wage similar to
Pocket Money, in exchange for a few hours per day of work.

I cannot afford to employ someone even on that basis, they would possibly
sit on their hands & expect me to wait on them, and not move when told to
'go home,'   I have stayed with work associates where their 'boy friend'
would hang about the bathroom toilet chatting to his lover whilst I had to
walk around the ass to do a pee.

If you invite one in, others may follow treating your home as the main street,
free to come and go as they please.

Who is funding climate change research?

There has been a 2.2 per cent increase in annual greenhouse gas emissions recorded in 2005 compared with emissions recorded in 1990. This is down on 2004 which had an increase of 2.5 per cent compared to 1990. The country has yet to turn the tide of increasing emissions but at least it is headed in the right direction.
